Job Title: Technical Specialist
Location : Katy, TX - Onsite
Duration: 6 months with possible extensions
Pay: $35 to $40 based on experience. Will be determined at time of offer
Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
Interview Process: Phone Interview First; 2nd Interview will be in person and Panel
Job Overview
The Technical Specialist is responsible for liaising with cross functional teams to ensure that all import and export activities comply with applicable global trade regulations.
MUST HAVE: Looking for Jurisdiction and Classification/ITAR classification experience and would prefer someone familiar or with experience in Environmental Compliance

This role is part of the MOG Engineering Operations team and supports Global Trade Services, Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics by assessing product classifications and coordinating with Global Trade Services to approve assessments. The position plays a key role in mitigating regulatory risk, maintaining accurate compliance data, and supporting efficient global movement of goods. This role also is key in maintaining data integrity when developing new products and designs.

Primary responsibility includes managing interfaces to trade compliance and technical experts for proper classification of materials. This role also comes with opportunity to expand skills in Environmental Compliance and Global Shop (ERP).
Essential duties:
- Facilitate Classification of products using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) Ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, including EAR, ITAR (if applicable) Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to support new product introductions and changes Maintain trade compliance data within Jurisdiction and Classification systems Ensure adherence to internal compliance policies, procedures, and Quality Management System requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives related to trade compliance processes
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent

Minimum 1 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or global logistics Working knowledge of import/export regulations, HTS classification, and country?of?origin rules

Experience working with ERP systems and compliance databases Proficiency in standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations)

Strong analytical, problem?solving, and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Effective interpersonal and cross?functional collaboration skills ITAR Role

Prior experience or demonstrated exposure to REACH and RoHS regulations, including material compliance concepts and restriction requirements

Experience supporting product environmental compliance activities in coordination with Engineering, Supply Chain, or Environmental Compliance teams

Familiarity with material declarations, substance data collection, and supplier compliance documentation
-
Understanding of how REACH and RoHS requirements intersect with trade compliance activities such as product classification, country of origin, and ERP data management

Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and support accurate data maintenance for environmental and trade compliance

Experience working cross?functionally to support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes with compliance considerations
