About the Role

The Principal Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering the technology roadmap for CareLink, MiniMed’s cloud-based diabetes data and digital health platform. This role sits at the intersection of product management, software engineering, cloud technology, data, and clinical needs to translate business and customer requirements into scalable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions.

The role partners closely with software architects, engineering, quality, cybersecurity, data science, UX, clinical, and business stakeholders to define product vision, technical capabilities, and delivery priorities. The Technical Product Owner owns the product backlog and works with cross-functional teams to decompose complex capabilities into actionable epics, features, and user stories while ensuring alignment with enterprise and medical-device software standards.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Own and drive the technical product roadmap for CareLink cloud capabilities.

  • Translate customer, clinical, business, and technical needs into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs.

  • Partner with architects and engineering leaders to define scalable cloud architectures, APIs, data platforms, integrations, and platform capabilities.

  • Lead product decomposition from high-level concepts into epics, features, and actionable user stories.

  • Balance business value, technical feasibility, security, quality, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines when prioritizing work.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Quality, Cybersecurity, and Clinical teams.

  • Define acceptance criteria and ensure delivered capabilities meet intended product outcomes and quality expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to modernize and modularize CareLink capabilities while improving scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Support adoption of emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI, automation, cloud-native technologies, and data-driven capabilities.

  • Establish effective Agile/JIRA processes and improve transparency across planning, execution, dependencies, and releases.

  • Monitor product performance, technical health, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress and communicate status to leadership.

  • Ensure technology decisions support the long-term evolution of CareLink as a secure, reliable, and scalable digital health platform.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience.

Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Scientific discipline and 7+ years of technical engineering professional experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering or Scientific discipline and 5+ years of technical engineering professional experience

  • Strong organization acumen with the ability to communicate effectively to non-technical audiences

  • Deep expertise in software test methodologies, quality standards/metrics

  • Experience with APIs and data platforms, familiarity with JSON and YAML data formats

  • Experience in a regulated environment

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$138,000.00 - $234,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $153,000.00 - $261,000.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
