Description

Are you ready to be part of something from the ground up? We are preparing to launch a new data center and need a Materials Specialist to ensure our inventory and logistics operations are running smoothly from day one. In this role, you will manage the flow of critical hardware components that keep our infrastructure operational — receiving shipments, maintaining stock levels, and getting the right parts to the right technicians at the right time. This is a hands-on position where your organizational skills and attention to detail directly impact how quickly we can build and maintain our data center environment.

Key job responsibilities

Manage inventory levels for critical spare parts and materials, conducting cycle counts, maintaining min/max thresholds, and ensuring accurate records of all inbound and outbound commodities.

Receive and process shipments by verifying contents against purchase orders, logging items into inventory systems, and coordinating with vendors on returns of defective hardware.

Stage and distribute parts to Data Center Technicians and Engineers responding to build and break/fix operations, ensuring parts availability meets operational targets.

Coordinate material flow for bulk deliveries including cabinets, power infrastructure, and networking equipment while maintaining organized and safe storage areas.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency in logistics workflows, collaborating with peers and escalating risks or roadblocks as needed.

A day in the life

Your day starts at the loading dock, where you process inbound shipments and verify them against purchase orders before logging everything into our inventory system. From there, you move to the parts room where you organizing storage bins, staging spares for technicians working active tickets, and running cycle counts to keep stock levels accurate. You might coordinate a bulk delivery of server cabinets in the yard, then pivot to packaging an RMA return for a defective component. Throughout the day, you collaborate with technicians and engineers, troubleshoot supply gaps, and look for ways to make the operation run more efficiently.

About the team

Our team supports the launch and ongoing operation of Amazon's data center infrastructure. As we bring a new site online, every team member plays a visible role in getting us to operational readiness. You will work alongside technicians, engineers, and operations managers in a collaborative environment where your contributions are felt immediately.
