At Avis Budget Group, we’re driven to be the best vehicle rental company in the world, together. Our 25,000 employees raise the bar every day, bringing different perspectives, taking ownership, and leading with integrity. We’re defining the future of mobility with safe, sustainable solutions that move people, businesses, and communities forward.

The Financial Analyst is an entry-level position within Finance, responsible for FP&A on the Transformation and Finance/Accounting budgets, including month-end reporting, forecasting and variance analysis. The role partners with US stakeholders and EMEA Finance to consolidate global P&L spend.

This position is well suited to a candidate seeking to build a career in FP&A. It offers early ownership, broad stakeholder exposure and active coaching. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong Excel skills.

What You'll Do:

Reporting and Month-End FP&A

  • Run established monthly reports and dashboards on schedule, ensuring data reconciles to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and distribute the consolidated month-end reporting file, including variance analysis on key drivers (actual versus forecast, plan and prior year).
  • Support the month-end close with accrual, reclassification and cost-center reviews; resolve or escalate discrepancies ahead of deadlines.
  • Maintain reporting calendars, checklists and process documentation.

P&L Management

  • Own FP&A for the Transformation and Finance/Accounting budgets, including headcount, vendor and project costs.

  • Lead the annual budget process for both areas.

  • Update forecasts based on stakeholder discussions and communicate spend, risks and opportunities to US partners.

  • Additional opportunity: support project ROI and business-case analysis for Transformation initiatives.

Global Partnership

  • Partner with EMEA Finance to consolidate detailed global P&L spend into a single view, aligning on mapping, timing and definitions.

  • Reconcile regional differences (currency, calendar, chart of accounts) and escalate issues promptly.

Tools and Process Improvement

  • Use Oracle Fusion & PBCS to extract and validate financial data.

  • Modify and scale existing Excel reports and models to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort.

  • Apply AI and automation tools (e.g., Claude, Alteryx) to streamline recurring workflows, with documentation for handoff.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements across the reporting cycle.

Perks You’ll Get:

  • Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance
  • Eligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributions
  • Full training to learn the business and enhance professional skills
  • Employee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget cars
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and more

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A or accounting; internships considered.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, large datasets); required.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion or a comparable ERP, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools, and above all a strong desire to learn.
  • Understanding of P&L structure, accounting fundamentals and the month-end close.
  • Self-starter: internally motivated and able to work independently against close deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, with consistent validation that figures reconcile.
  • Business acumen: understands the drivers behind the numbers and can explain variances to non-finance partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confidence presenting to senior leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion, Smart View or Oracle EPM/Hyperion. (preferred)
  • Experience with Alteryx or Power Query (preferred).

The annual starting salary for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
