Work Type: Per Diem/PRN/As Needed (Total FTE less than 0.5)

Shift: Shift 1

Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Pay Range: $45.00 per hour

Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Medical Imaging Cardiology Mgr and with limited supervision, coordinates and performs all vascular imaging studies, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting the philosophy, to ensure the quality of patient care. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. This role

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Must be registered by the ARDMS

  • Current CPR

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience.

  • Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel and patients.

  • Verbal and written skills necessary to facilitate communication with a variety of personnel.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • All employees who were part of Rush Oak Park on or before January 1, 2010, are considered grandfathered in terms of education, experience, and certification. and therefore, are competent to perform their duties and responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for 75% of the work day

  • Ability to do repetitive hand motion for scanning 80% of the work day.

  • Have the body mechanics to safely assist patients on and off of the scan table .

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and reviews requests for vascular studies.

  • Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.

  • Explains and prepares the patient for all vascular procedures.

  • Ensures delivery of quality vascular ultrasound studies including, but limited to: Visceral vascular exams, Peripheral vascular testing, upper/lower arterial, upper/lower venous, and mapping

  • Takes representative anatomical images, recognizes normal versus abnormal anatomy, and exhibits knowledge of various pathological processes.

  • Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change.

  • Maintains equipment and ensures proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.

  • Performs computer skills and shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes patient charges and profiles.

  • Marks images for proper definition and explanation.

  • Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.

  • Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders.
