Job Description

As the EHSS Intern , you will be responsible for completing a wide range of environmental, health, safety, emergency response and security tasks under the supervision of GF Health, Safety & Environment staff. The individual in this role will work cross functionally across the business which includes operators, maintenance, plant leadership, and corporate support personnel.

Location : Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia

Semester(s) Offered : Summer 2027

Pay Rate : $27.50

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position?

  • Assist with EHS record keeping

  • Developing and delivering EHS training

  • Participating in emergency drills

  • Perform routine safety and environmental inspections

  • Labeling waste containers for disposal

  • Maintenance and updating of JHA program

  • Participating in learning team investigations

  • Performing equipment calibrations

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Safety Studies, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or another related field

  • Must have completed at least their sophomore year of university study.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to set priorities and demonstrate strong attention to detail

  • Highly motivated and eager to learn

  • Strong computer skills

  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime as required to complete specific projects

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
