Nurse Practitioner – Electrophysiology
Full-Time | Smithtown & Westbury
The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with our electrophysiology cardiologists to provide comprehensive care to patients with arrhythmias and other heart rhythm disorders. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, pre- and post-procedure care, patient education, and ongoing follow-up.
About Dr. Joseph Germano
Dr. Joseph Germano serves as Regional Director of Electrophysiology for Suffolk County and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders. He works closely with St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center leadership to expand access to advanced electrophysiology services across Long Island, with an emphasis on early and definitive treatment strategies.
Dr. Germano is board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease.
Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.

Order and review diagnostic testing, including ECGs and cardiac monitoring.

Collaborate with electrophysiology cardiologists to develop and manage treatment plans.

Provide pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing EP procedures, including ablations and pacemaker/ICD implantation.

Manage follow-up care for patients with arrhythmias and implanted cardiac devices.

Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, procedures, and ongoing care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications

Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license and registration.

National NP board certification.
-
DEA registration or eligibility.
-
BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
-
Cardiology or electrophysiology experience preferred but not required.
-
Ability to work at both Smithtown and Westbury locations.
