Standard Job Description

Ground Station Engineer for an Advanced Integration Course, responsible for training pilots on aircraft simulators.

  • Interacts with development and test teams for operational integration at customer locations.

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that do not perform IT responsibilities, use E146, Systems Engineer.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent aviation experience/combined education.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance investigation within the last 5 years

  • Completed DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or CCNA).

  • IT experience of any combination in Windows/Linux, Database, Networking, or COMSEC

Desired Skills

System Administration knowledge and experience on Windows platforms

Knowledge of avionics systems and or flight test concepts

Complex troubleshooting/problem solving skills

Familiarization with RF technology.

Experience working with fiber optics

The selected candidate may be required to work at deployed CONUS/OCONUS locations, support rotating shifts, and work over 50 hours per week

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
