Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ads Sales Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of SMB advertisers on an emerging advertising platform for a global AI company.

You will combine consultative selling with hands-on campaign expertise, helping advertisers develop their strategy, launch effective campaigns, understand performance, and scale their investment. You will own client relationships from onboarding through ongoing account development, with responsibility for advertiser retention, revenue growth, and long-term success.

This role requires practical experience creating, managing, and optimizing digital advertising campaigns, ideally across paid social platforms. You should be comfortable advising multiple clients, diagnosing campaign challenges, and turning performance data into clear recommendations.

As the platform develops, you will also help shape effective ways of working, capture advertiser feedback, and build approaches that support a growing advertising business.

What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Account Management & Advertiser Growth

  • Own and develop a portfolio of SMB advertiser accounts, building strong relationships with decision-makers and becoming a trusted advertising advisor.

  • Understand each client’s business model, audience, commercial objectives, and marketing priorities, translating these into tailored advertising strategies.

  • Develop account growth plans with clear objectives, campaign priorities, testing opportunities, and next steps.

  • Lead regular account reviews, explaining campaign results, highlighting opportunities, and agreeing actions to improve performance.

  • Identify early signs of disengagement or churn and take proactive steps to address concerns and retain advertisers.

  • Grow advertiser investment by demonstrating value, recommending relevant opportunities, and helping clients scale campaigns against their business goals.

  • Manage expectations clearly, particularly as the platform’s capabilities and advertising offering evolve.

Campaign Strategy, Creative & Activation

  • Consult with advertisers on campaign objectives, audience strategy, budgets, creative messaging, and measurement.

  • Guide clients through onboarding, campaign setup, and launch, helping them establish a clear foundation for ongoing optimization.

  • Apply experience from paid social and digital marketing to advise clients on effective ad copy, creative concepts, formats, and calls to action.

  • Help advertisers develop creative testing plans and identify opportunities to refresh or improve their ads.

  • Recommend structured tests that help clients learn what works and make informed decisions about future investment.

  • Adapt recommendations to the capabilities available on the platform and each advertiser’s level of experience.

Campaign Diagnosis & Optimization

  • Monitor campaign performance and identify issues affecting delivery, engagement, conversion, or return on investment.

  • Diagnose potential causes of underperformance, including creative quality, audience relevance, budget allocation, campaign setup, and the post-click customer journey.

  • Interpret advertising metrics such as impressions, click-through rate, cost per click, conversion rate, cost per acquisition, and return on ad spend, where available.

  • Turn performance insights into prioritized recommendations, explaining what should change, why, and how success will be assessed.

  • Help clients distinguish between campaign performance issues and measurement or tracking limitations.

  • Work with relevant internal teams to resolve technical or delivery issues and keep advertisers informed.

  • Track the impact of recommendations and use results to guide subsequent optimization and scaling decisions.

  • Consultative Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Engage existing and prospective advertisers through proactive calls, emails, consultations, and follow-ups.

  • Qualify opportunities by understanding advertiser needs, readiness, budgets, and growth potential.

  • Recommend advertising solutions that align with client objectives and communicate their value clearly.

  • Handle objections through informed discussion of campaign strategy, performance, and business outcomes.

  • Maintain consistent client engagement while meeting agreed activity expectations, including the existing expectation of 40–50 calls per day.

Pipeline, Quality & Platform Development

  • Maintain accurate account records, opportunities, forecasts, and next steps in Salesforce or an equivalent CRM.

  • Meet agreed standards for lead response, advertiser follow-up, account reviews, and renewals where applicable.

  • Document campaign recommendations, client commitments, growth opportunities, and retention risks.

  • Share recurring advertiser challenges, product feedback, and campaign insights with team leadership and relevant internal teams.

  • Contribute to playbooks and processes that improve advertiser onboarding, campaign support, and account growth.

  • Follow advertising policies, quality standards, and data privacy requirements in all client interactions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital advertising, ads sales, performance marketing, or advertising account management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to differentiate and sell to SMB and mid-market clients

  • Hands-on experience creating, launching, managing, and optimizing digital advertising campaigns.

  • Experience advising multiple advertisers or clients on marketing strategy, campaign performance, and budget decisions.

  • A proven ability to diagnose underperforming campaigns and recommend practical improvements.

  • Experience creating ads or developing creative briefs, with a clear understanding of how messaging, visuals, and calls to action influence results.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate advertising data into clear, commercially relevant advice.

  • Evidence of retaining clients, developing accounts, or increasing advertising investment by delivering value.

  • Confident consultative selling, presentation, and objection-handling skills.

  • Experience with proactive customer contact and working towards revenue, retention, and activity targets.

  • Strong organization, CRM discipline, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a portfolio.

  • Direct experience with paid social advertising platforms such as Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, or Pinterest.

  • Experience in an agency, advertising platform, or client-facing performance marketing team.

  • Experience supporting SMB advertisers with different budgets, objectives, and levels of marketing knowledge.

  • Familiarity with conversion tracking, attribution, creative testing, and landing-page optimization.

  • Experience working with Salesforce and sales engagement tools.

  • Experience helping clients adopt a new advertising product or working in a developing platform environment.

  • Cultural and commercial awareness of the market or region supported.

Mindset & Behaviors

  • Commercially accountable: Takes ownership of advertiser retention, account growth, and revenue outcomes.

  • Consultative and practical: Understands the client’s business and offers clear, actionable advice.

  • Analytical and curious: Investigates performance issues and tests recommendations.

  • Adaptable: Works confidently through evolving products, processes, and client expectations.

  • Proactive and resilient: Follows through on commitments and addresses challenges early.

  • Collaborative: Shares insights and works across teams to improve advertiser outcomes.

What Success Looks Like
