Overview

This is a temporary position.

The Winchester Institute within the Harbert College of Business is accepting applications for an Administrative Support Associate. This position would be the primary administrative support position for The Institute, processing all vouchers, collection reports, purchase orders, and other financial documents. There is a significant amount of event planning involved as well.

The Winchester Institute for Real Estate Development is an Institute housed within both The Harbert College of Business and The College of Architecture, Design and Construction. You can read more about the institute here: realestate.aubun.edu. Throughout the year we host numerous educational and networking events both on campus and throughout the Southeast. We also offer professional education certificates and are involved in supporting research initiatives throughout campus.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time

  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads

  • Assistance with special projects

  • Seasonal work

  • Emergencies

Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Processing vendor, travel, and other vouchers

  • Processing purchase orders and other financial documents

  • Reviewing and processing collection reports

  • Planning events

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience in administrative support services.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in Self-Serve, Tiger-Buy, Salesforce, Touchnet, Microsoft Office, and Qualtrics

Substitution allowed for Experience:

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
