Full job description
Lead Engineer - Data Analytics Tech: Administers and improves the engineering behind MAXIMUS’ data warehousing for government, health care, and human services industries. Maintain and develop the MAXIMUS data warehouse system while ensuring data security controls by helping to debug, code, and develop the internal systems from which our business intelligence teams to draw necessary data.
I: Essential Job Functions:

Administer and improve the engineering behind MAXIMUS’ data warehousing for government, health care, and human services industries.

Maintain and develop the MAXIMUS data warehouse system while ensuring data security controls by helping to debug, code, and develop the internal systems from which our business intelligence teams to draw necessary data.

Lead system and data analysis/development, including Business Intelligence, database, and ETL/ELT (Extraction, Loading, Transformation) processes following MAXIMUS Data and Security Standards including user creation and role based access control design.

Produce system impact analysis documentation, such as metadata and diagrams of entity relationships, business processes, and process flow.

Develop custom built frameworks and use them to implement Extraction, Loading, Transformation ingestion pipelines in Streamsets.

Convert procedures and other SQL code from source databases including MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server to Snowflake.

Lead the creation of optimal, efficient, and feasible analytics solutions to cater to all project requirements, which may be difficult and sometimes complex, considering potential future project changes.

Monitor, maintain and develop enhancements to existing analytics deployments due to infrastructure upgrades, changes in standards and security requirements.

Manage change control, code configuration and application security utilizing knowledge of information resource management.

Perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution, and requirements compliance. This includes Unit testing, component integration testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, capacity testing and quality reviews.

Support systems in test and production environments and assist with problem resolution and debugging.

Use SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle databases for migration of the system data to Snowflake Data warehouse cloud solution.

Communicate with project managers and project stakeholders on progress of open items and work with other development, quality assurance and infrastructure teams.

Produce standards and best practices documents, review functional specification to the DevOps teams and guide documents to the business teams.

Convert/optimize code from the source systems to Snowflake, to follow the technical parameters of software applications and to design and develop highly sophisticated software applications and algorithms.

Prepare Unit test scripts, component test scripts, user test scripts and incident logs for application development and data warehouse testing.

Work with onshore/offshore teams to support the project development, testing and deployments.

Provide training and consulting for various technical and non-technical internal teams and maintain client satisfaction by meeting client priorities and service level agreement targets in a timely manner.
II: Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering plus 7 years of experience performing data analysis and developing data integration solutions.

Salary: $182,562 per year. Telecommuting Permitted within the Sacramento, CA metro area.
