We are seeking an early-career professional who is interested in developing a career in Compliance and contributing to the effective implementation of Chevrons’ Compliance Program. This position will report to the Compliance Team Lead: Upstream – Americas and will work closely with experienced Compliance, business, and Law Function colleagues.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Support the Compliance Manager, Compliance Team Lead, and other team members in delivering compliance guidance and program activities for Upstream businesses in the United States and Latin America.

  • Conduct research, gather and analyze information, and prepare clear, accurate work products to help address compliance questions, business activities, and transactions.

  • Assist with the execution of Compliance Program processes, including Risk Assessments, Representation Letters, compliance committees, training, monitoring, and the tracking and remediation of compliance issues.

  • Help identify and escalate potential compliance risks or concerns in a timely manner and support the development of practical, risk-based solutions under the guidance of more experienced team members.

  • Coordinate with business, Law Function, and Compliance colleagues to collect information, maintain records, track action items, and support timely completion of compliance commitments.

  • Support reviews of matters involving areas such as conflicts of interest, transactions with government officials, gifts and entertainment, third party due diligence, international trade, and other applicable compliance requirements.

  • Assist in developing and delivering compliance communications, training materials, presentations, reports, and other resources that promote awareness and a strong culture of compliance.

  • Identify opportunities to improve and simplify compliance processes and work products, including responsible use of Copilot, AI, and other digital tools while maintaining appropriate human judgment, confidentiality, and oversight.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated interest in corporate compliance, business ethics, legal, audit, risk, investigations, or a related field through relevant coursework, internships, work experience, or extracurricular activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research issues, evaluate information, identify relevant considerations, and reach well-supported conclusions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized work products for a range of audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle sensitive information appropriately, ask questions, and seek guidance when needed.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different functions, cultures, and levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and willingness to learn compliance systems, business processes, and digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship, co-op, or other experience in compliance, legal, audit, risk, investigations, finance, or a related corporate function.

  • Coursework or experience related to business ethics, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, international trade and sanctions, competition law, data privacy, investigations, or third-party risk management.

  • Experience in the energy industry or another multinational or highly regulated industry.

  • Experience analyzing data, preparing presentations or reports, coordinating projects, or supporting process improvements.

  • Experience using Copilot, AI, or other digital tools responsibly to improve productivity, analysis, or work quality.

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
