Sales & Operations Manager
Orangetheory Fitness Madison – Madison, MS
Full-Time | $18–$20/hour + performance-based incentive opportunity after 90 days
Orangetheory Fitness Madison is looking for a proven sales professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and take ownership of both sales performance and day-to-day studio operations.
This is not simply a fitness, front-desk, or administrative management position. Sales performance is at the center of this role.
We are looking for someone who understands how to work toward measurable goals, manage a sales pipeline, follow up consistently, close sales, understand KPIs, develop others, and take ownership of results.
The right candidate will combine strong sales ability with maturity, leadership, accountability, and the ability to solve problems without needing constant direction.
What You'll Own
Sales Performance & Growth
-
Drive new membership sales and overall studio growth
-
Take ownership of the studio's lead pipeline and sales process
-
Consistently follow up with prospects by phone, text, email, and in person
-
Understand and monitor key sales metrics and KPIs
-
Identify where opportunities are being lost and take action to improve results
-
Help establish and maintain high standards for lead follow-up, appointments, show rates, conversions, and closing
-
Lead from the front by actively participating in the sales process
Team Leadership & Development
-
Provide day-to-day leadership for our Sales Associate team
-
Coach and develop team members to become stronger and more confident salespeople
-
Establish clear expectations and hold the team accountable for performance
-
Help train new employees and reinforce studio processes and standards
-
Provide direction and solve routine staff issues without unnecessary escalation to ownership
-
Create an environment built around professionalism, communication, accountability, and results
Studio Operations
-
Help oversee the day-to-day operation of Orangetheory Fitness Madison
-
Ensure studio systems, procedures, and initiatives are consistently executed
-
Monitor membership and operational KPIs
-
Assist with scheduling, staff coverage, membership issues, retention efforts, and other operational responsibilities
-
Recognize problems early and take initiative to solve them
-
Follow through on responsibilities without needing constant reminders or supervision
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate has a proven sales background with measurable results and is ready for greater responsibility.
We're looking for someone who:
-
Has demonstrated success in a sales-focused position
-
Has experience working toward measurable sales goals and KPIs
-
Can clearly explain their personal sales performance and results
-
Is comfortable making calls, following up with prospects, overcoming objections, and asking for the sale
-
Has experience leading, training, mentoring, or developing others
-
Has demonstrated stability and success in previous employment
-
Communicates professionally and confidently
-
Is organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
-
Takes initiative and follows through
-
Is comfortable being held accountable for measurable results
-
Thinks like an owner—recognizing problems, developing solutions, and taking responsibility for outcomes
-
Is looking for an opportunity to grow rather than simply their next short-term job
Fitness industry experience is not required. A college degree is not required.
We are much more interested in what you have actually accomplished in sales and your ability to lead than a specific degree, industry, or job title.
Successful candidates could come from backgrounds such as retail sales, wireless, banking, automotive, hospitality, membership sales, medical/aesthetic sales, restaurant management, or other KPI-driven sales environments.
Compensation & First 90 Days
Starting base pay is $18–$20 per hour, based on the quality, relevance, and demonstrated success of your previous sales experience.
The initial 90 days will focus on learning the Orangetheory business while demonstrating your ability to:
-
Understand and manage our sales process and KPIs
-
Personally contribute to sales performance
-
Lead and develop the Sales Associate team
-
Take ownership of day-to-day studio operations
-
Identify and solve problems independently
-
Consistently execute expectations and follow through
There will be no incentive compensation during the initial 90-day period.
At the completion of 90 days, there will be a formal performance review. Successful completion of the introductory period will lead to the activation of a performance-based incentive structure and a review of the employee's ongoing base compensation based on demonstrated performance and responsibility.
What Success Looks Like
We want this person to become the day-to-day sales and operational leader of the studio.
Success means knowing the numbers, understanding what is driving them, developing the team, addressing problems before they grow, consistently following through, and helping create measurable growth without requiring constant direction from ownership.
If you have already proven that you can sell and are looking for an opportunity to lead people, own results, and help operate a business, we'd like to hear from you.
Please submit your résumé and be prepared to discuss your specific sales experience, performance expectations, KPIs, accomplishments, and leadership experience during the interview process.
