City/State Elizabeth City, NC Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Department Tech (ED Tech).

Hours/Shift: Full time (36 hours/week), days

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) with Sentara, you will assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team.

  • Starting IV's

  • EKG's

  • Point of Care testing

  • Blood Cultures

  • Vital Signs

  • Arrival prioritization

  • Stocking

Education

  • HS Diploma

Certification/Licensure/Experience

  • EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR

  • Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR

  • Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
