Full job description

Build the operating system for a growing multi-site physician-practice platform. This is a hands-on VP role for an operator who can improve performance, integrate practices, develop leaders, and give the CEO a dependable operating partner.

The Opportunity

A specialty healthcare platform is hiring a Vice President of Operations to turn growth plans into consistent results across practices and markets. You will report directly to the CEO, partner closely with physicians and functional leaders, and bring clear priorities, simple operating rhythms, and measurable accountability to a distributed organization.

The role offers real enterprise scope and a path toward Senior Vice President and COO responsibility as the platform grows and performance warrants.

What You Will Own

  • Own day-to-day operating and financial performance across practices and markets.
  • Build KPI reviews, SOPs, decision rights, meeting cadences, and escalation paths that leaders use.
  • Improve staffing, scheduling, patient access, revenue cycle, patient experience, and site-level results.
  • Lead integrations of practices, markets, systems, and service lines from planning through adoption.
  • Hire, coach, and hold practice, market, regional, and functional leaders accountable.
  • Partner with physicians, the CEO, finance, HR, recruiting, IT and EMR, compliance, facilities, legal, and marketing to convert strategy into execution.

What Success Looks Like

  • Establish clear visibility into operating and financial performance across every practice and market.
  • Stabilize the highest-priority operating gaps and reduce avoidable CEO escalations.
  • Create a repeatable integration playbook that protects continuity and accelerates adoption.
  • Strengthen field leadership and build reliable follow-through below the executive level.

What You Bring

  • Multi-site outpatient physician-practice or comparable ambulatory operating ownership.
  • Direct accountability for operating and financial KPIs, with measurable improvement.
  • Candidate-owned leadership of practice, market, service-line, acquisition, or major-system integrations.
  • Direct leadership of distributed practice, market, regional, or functional operating leaders.
  • Practical fluency in staffing, scheduling, patient access, revenue cycle, EMR workflows, and site-level economics.
  • The judgment to earn trust with physicians and executives while driving clear accountability.

Experience in an MSO, PPM, PE-backed healthcare-services business, specialty-clinic network, ASC, urgent care, dental, or similar ambulatory platform is strongly preferred. Exact podiatry or vascular experience is not required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is expected. A master's degree is preferred.

Compensation and Location

The base salary range is $130,000 to $145,000, plus an objective performance bonus of up to 30%. At full bonus attainment, potential annual cash compensation ranges from approximately $169,000 to $188,500. Bonus compensation is performance-based and not guaranteed.

This is a field-based role, not a fully remote position. Houston, Texas is the primary market, with Atlanta, Georgia as a secondary option. The Vice President must maintain meaningful in-market presence and travel regularly across practices and markets.
