Job Description
General Scope of Duties
Perform various tasks involving setting up and breaking down event equipment, picking up and delivering supplies and material, moving furniture and equipment, providing custodial and maintenance services to maintain clean and attractive areas within assigned buildings, and other duties as assigned.
General Duties and Responsibilities

Support events inside and outside by supplying, delivering, installing, and removing a wide variety of material and equipment arranged as requested by the customer using sketches, diagrams, and work orders including: tents, chairs, tables, podiums, flags, flagpoles, banners, coat racks and other items as requested.

Interpret and follow detailed work orders to ensure accurate execution of tasks, including specifications, materials, timelines, and quality standards.

Prioritize daily workload to ensure timely completion of tasks while adapting to changing demands. Required to be available outside of the College’s normal administrative office hours to support custodial operations and provide on-site assistance for major campus events such as Commencement, Alumni Reunion Weekend, First-Year Move-In Day, and Parents Weekend. Must remain on duty until responsibilities are fully completed for all major events.

Pick up and load a wide variety of materials and equipment from various campus locations into assigned vehicles; deliver and unload them at the proper on- or off-campus destinations, ensuring the job is completed thoroughly and efficiently.

Ensure proper setup and arrangement of furniture for all campus events in accordance with event specifications and timelines.

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Perform daily pickup of residence hall trash as directed.

Support other Facilities Management departmental activities as assigned.

Operate a service vehicle as required to perform duties.
Education and Skills
-
A combination of education and experience that provides a demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance duties required

Proven capacity for effective teamwork.
-
Ability to effectively and safely operate a variety of vehicles, tools and equipment necessary to carry out assignments including box truck, cube van, cargo van, pickup truck, burnishers, scrubbers, extractors, buffers, and various types of vacuums.

Interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.

Ability to keep shop records, follow directions

Ability to utilize computer software ( CMMS ).

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
-
Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds unaided.
-
High integrity needed to handle confidential information.
