Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Graduate and Online Admission supports the recruitment, admission, enrollment advising, and yield of graduate, adult, professional, and online students. Working under the direction of the Director of Recruitment and Admission, the Associate Director carries out recruitment and admission activity designed to maintain momentum in growing graduate and online programs and to provide a student-centered enrollment experience from inquiry through matriculation.

The Associate Director works closely with academic leadership, faculty, Enrollment Management colleagues, and external partners to support graduate and online enrollment growth and program sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Graduate and Online Recruitment and Admission

  • Implement recruitment initiatives that support enrollment growth across graduate and online programs.

  • Carry out outreach, admissions counseling, enrollment advising, and yield activity for graduate, adult, professional, and online students.

  • Support graduate and online application review processes and ensure fair, consistent, and student-centered admission practices.

  • Monitor assigned inquiry, application, admission, and enrollment activity and provide updates to the Director.

  • Recommend adjustments that support inquiry generation, application growth, enrollment yield, and student conversion.

  • Represent the institution at recruitment events, professional conferences, employer engagement activities, and community outreach initiatives.

Academic Partnership and Program Support

  • Work with deans, program directors, department chairs, and faculty to support program enrollment goals and recruitment priorities established with the Director.

  • Support recruitment activity for new graduate and online program launches.

  • Facilitate communication and student handoff processes between Admission and academic departments.

  • Share applicant feedback and recruitment insights with the Director and academic partners.

Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with area employers, healthcare organizations, school districts, nonprofit agencies, government entities, and community organizations.

  • Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities that generate graduate and online enrollment pipelines and support workforce development initiatives.

  • Collaborate with institutional advancement, workforce development, and academic leadership to support external partnerships.

Enrollment Advising and Student Engagement

  • Provide responsive and student-centered enrollment guidance to prospective graduate and online students.

  • Carry out engagement activity designed to support enrollment conversion.

  • Identify prospective student questions or process concerns and bring recommendations to the Director.

Collaboration and Strategic Planning

  • Supervise graduate and online admission staff or graduate assistants as assigned.

  • Support performance expectations, collaboration, student service, and professional development for assigned staff.

  • Partner with the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Strategy and Operations, Senior Associate Director of Enrollment Technology, Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, Financial Aid, and undergraduate and transfer admission staff.

  • Participate in enrollment planning efforts and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

  • Progressively responsible experience in enrollment management, admission, recruitment, student services, higher education administration, or a related field.

  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and enrollment information

Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with graduate, adult, online, or professional program enrollment efforts.

  • Experience collaborating with faculty and academic leadership.

  • Experience developing employer, workforce, or community partnerships.

  • Experience with Slate or a comparable CRM platform.

  • Knowledge of strategic enrollment management principles

Driving Responsibility:

  • This employee must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a university or rental vehicle for recruitment.

Travel:

  • This position does require occasional travel to recruit at graduate fairs. The employee may be requested to assist with recruitment at undergraduate fairs if needed to support the undergraduate recruitment and admission operation.
