About the Role:

Join our Process Engineering team and play a key role in the design and development of cutting-edge life sciences and pharmaceutical facilities. As a Life Sciences Process Engineer II, you will lead process design efforts, develop engineering solutions, collaborate across disciplines, and support projects from concept through implementation. Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:

  • Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed process design and are developing skills to support management of engineering activities for projects in the life sciences industry.

  • This position receives general administrative direction from the division manager and is responsible for process design of a few projects of varying complexity

  • Research applicable industry standards, prepare engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.

  • Develop engineering specifications and project cost estimates.

  • Review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.

  • Coordinate some aspects of project document completion.

  • Direct CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.

  • Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.

  • Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.

  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum of (2) years of applicable consulting or engineering experience within life sciences/ pharmaceutical industry, utilizing construction documents for new/existing life sciences/pharmaceutical facilities.

  • Minimum of (2) years of experience preparing and reviewing PFD’s, P&ID’s, equipment and piping specifications.

  • Experience with FDA, EMA, and other regulatory standards and requirements required

  • Knowledge and application of cGMP’s and ASME BPE required.

  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3 piping code.

  • Familiarity with pressure drop calculations for incompressible and compressible fluids

  • Familiarity with sizing centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and other process equipment.

  • Familiarity with manual and automatic valve types and applications.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical area classification – NFPA 497.

  • Basic knowledge of NFPA fire codes (NFPA 30/NFPA 55 preferred).

  • Basic knowledge of IBC building code.

  • Basic knowledge of ASME BPVC, Division 1.

  • Basic Knowledge of process controls/automation.

  • Basic knowledge of control valve and flow meter sizing and selection.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay: $75,000-105,000 annually (depending upon experience).

  • Eligible for overtime pay

  • Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
