Looking for a part-time Occupational Therapist position that offers flexibility without a regular weekend commitment?
Maine Veterans’ Homes is looking for an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join our Therapy team for 24 hours per week. The days you work can be flexible, making this a great opportunity for an OT looking for work-life balance while making a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans.

About the Position
As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, provide therapy services, and help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
You will:

Evaluate residents and develop effective treatment plans
-
Provide occupational therapy services based on residents’ individual needs
-
Review care plans and medical records to ensure appropriate treatment
-
Complete required documentation, including daily notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing
-
Participate in discharge planning
-
Collaborate with Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, nursing, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team
-
Participate in interdisciplinary and rehabilitation team meetings
-
Provide education and training to facility staff
-
Help ensure resident safety, dignity, rights, and confidentiality
-
Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as assigned
-
Help develop new therapy programs and services
-
Maintain therapy equipment and ensure it is safe and functioning properly
What We’re Looking For
Required:
-
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
-
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
-
Current State of Maine licensure as an Occupational Therapist
-
Strong communication, organization, time-management, and clinical decision-making skills
-
Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team
Preferred:
- Experience in a long-term care environment
