Senior Digital Workplace Engineer

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking a Senior Digital Workplace Engineer to administer, support, enhance, and continuously improve the organization's Digital Workplace ecosystem across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, enterprise content management, workflow automation, document management, scanning technologies, and application platforms.

This senior technical role supports cloud-based and on-premises technologies while advancing modernization across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, document management, workflow, and enterprise application platforms.

The Senior Digital Workplace Engineer partners with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, and modern collaboration and content management solutions.

This is an onsite position and it is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What You'll Do

As a Senior Digital Workplace Engineer, you will combine platform administration, application support, automation, content services, and infrastructure expertise to improve how employees collaborate, manage information, and get work done.

You will:

  • Administer, support, enhance, and continuously improve Microsoft 365 services, SharePoint Online, and legacy SharePoint environments.

  • Administer enterprise document management, records management, content services, scanning, imaging, OCR, and document capture solutions.

  • Monitor platform performance, storage, security, service health, user provisioning, access controls, and governance standards.

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Digital Workplace applications and business-critical solutions hosted on Windows Server and IIS.

  • Troubleshoot application, authentication, integration, workflow, and performance issues and coordinate vendor support activities.

  • Support software lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, testing, deployment, backup validation, and disaster recovery activities.

  • Design, configure, and support business solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Modernize legacy forms and workflows, including InfoPath and legacy SharePoint solutions.

  • Develop PowerShell automation scripts that improve operational efficiency and platform administration.

  • Support integrations among Microsoft 365, enterprise applications, SQL databases, and third-party platforms.

  • Configure metadata, taxonomy, retention policies, content types, and governance controls.

  • Support document capture, indexing, workflow routing, and content lifecycle processes.

  • Administer Windows Server environments and manage IIS configurations, application deployments, certificates, and web application troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity, and business teams to ensure secure and compliant operations.

  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related work experience may be considered.

  • Ideally, 6+ years of experience with SharePoint, including on-premises and online environments, Microsoft 365, and enterprise content management.

  • Strong experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, Angular, .NET, C#, and ASP.NET.

  • Experience with InfoPath forms and Nintex workflows, including migration to cloud-based solutions.

  • Hands-on expertise with Power Apps, Power Automate, and advanced PowerShell scripting.

  • Experience managing Microsoft Teams and integrations.

  • Experience administering Windows Server and IIS environments.

  • Deep understanding of SharePoint and Teams architecture, governance, and security.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and work effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, technology teams, and third-party providers.

Preferred Qualifications

Digital Workplace Engineering

  • Experience engineering and supporting Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and hybrid SharePoint environments.

  • Experience developing SharePoint solutions using SPFx, React, Angular, .NET, C#, or ASP.NET.

  • Experience managing Microsoft Teams integrations and developing Teams apps, bots, or Copilot and agent solutions.

Workflow Automation & Modernization

  • Experience designing solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Experience modernizing InfoPath forms, Nintex workflows, and legacy SharePoint solutions.

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting experience for platform administration and operational automation.

Content Services & Platform Operations

  • Experience with enterprise document management, records management, metadata, taxonomy, retention, document capture, OCR, and content lifecycle processes.

  • Experience with SharePoint migration tools such as ShareGate or AvePoint.

  • Experience supporting Windows Server, IIS, SQL integrations, certificates, application deployments, patching, backup validation, and disaster recovery.
