Portfolio Operations Analyst – Entry Level

Salt Lake City, UT (In-Office | Must be local)

Comp: $47-56K / year

We are partnering with a leading global asset management firm to identify a Portfolio Operations Analyst. This role supports a private markets investment platform, with a focus on liquidity forecasting, capital allocation, and risk analysis. Portfolio Operations Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily cash positions, forecast funding needs, and coordinate capital calls and distributions with cross-functional partners.

  • Build and maintain liquidity and pacing models that keep cash working efficiently.

  • Analyze deal allocations across portfolios and present recommendations to deal teams and internal committees.

  • Support portfolio launches, rebalances, and credit facility workflows.

  • Quantify currency and market exposures and model potential risk solutions.

  • Help respond to compliance and regulatory inquiries.

  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes with automation and AI tools.

Qualities of the Ideal Portfolio Operations Analyst Candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 1–5 years of experience in financial services, investment operations, or fund-related roles

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and large data set analysis

  • Strong financial acumen, including familiarity with cash flows and performance metrics

  • Working knowledge of risk management and controls

  • Project management skills and the ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior colleagues

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
