Full job description

Role Summary

Axtria is seeking a Director to lead Clinical AI, GenAI, and Agentic AI technology consulting for our US pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. This is a sales-oriented, client-facing role: the Director will originate and close new business, architect AI-led clinical solutions, and represent Axtria in front of senior client stakeholders. Working knowledge of AI/GenAI is a baseline expectation for this role, with a particular emphasis on technology and solution architecture. Ideal candidates bring a blend of deep technology and solution consulting experience, strong clinical domain depth, and a proven track record of selling clinical analytics and AI services at leading consulting or technology services firms.

Core Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Sales: Own revenue growth for Clinical AI/GenAI consulting; drive the full sales cycle — prospecting, solutioning, proposal/RFP response, and closing — with pharma and biotech clients in the US.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and own senior client relationships at the VP/CxO level; act as a trusted advisor on AI strategy for clinical R&D.

  • Solution Architecture: Design modern AI solution architectures, including Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), GenAI/LLM-based applications, and predictive analytics for clinical operations, biometrics, drug safety, and medical affairs.

  • Thought Leadership: Represent Axtria at industry conferences, client workshops, and analyst briefings; publish points of view on GenAI and Agentic AI in the clinical value chain.

  • Delivery Oversight: Partner with delivery teams to ensure technical rigor, quality, and on-time execution of sold engagements.

  • GTM & Capability Building: Partner with Axtria's India-based SME team to develop new offerings, lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and build go-to-market collateral for AI-led clinical solutions.

  • Maintain high CSAT and NPS scores to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in clinical/life sciences consulting or technology services, including significant time in a client-facing sales/business development leadership capacity.

  • Prior experience at a leading consulting or technology services firm required.

  • Demonstrated success selling clinical analytics, AI, or technology consulting engagements to pharmaceutical or biotech clients.

  • Strong working knowledge of the clinical domain — study design, clinical feasibility, clinical real-world evidence (RWE), study rescue, and clinical data repositories (CDR) — beyond a purely technical or SME lens.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Based in or willing to relocate to New Jersey; willing to travel to client sites as needed.

Key Skills & Knowledge Areas

  • Strong working knowledge of GenAI, large language models (LLMs), and Agentic AI frameworks as applied to the clinical value chain.

  • Deep familiarity with clinical domain concepts: study design, clinical feasibility, clinical RWE, study rescue, CDR, and related clinical operations processes.

  • Familiarity with clinical data sources and standards: CTMS, EDC, IRT, Labs, EHR/RWD, CDISC (CDASH, SDTM, ADaM), FHIR.

  • Understanding of AI/ML techniques including NLP, predictive modeling, and transformer-based architectures.

  • Awareness of cloud and big data ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP, Spark/Databricks) sufficient to speak credibly with technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to clinical data (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR).
