RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations, and coordination and integration of services, programs, and activities of the Cardiopulmonary department.

  • Ensures operations and functions are in compliance with regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) and Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital.

  • Serves as the department head in the absence of the Manager as assigned.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.

  • Frequent: sitting, standing

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Subjected to noise/vibrations from intercoms, telephones, and monitors.

  • Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.

  • Frequently works on multiple tasks and priorities at one time.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Current Hawaii State license as a Respiratory Therapist.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Current ACLS certification.

  • Current PALS certification.

  • Current NRP certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years as a respiratory therapist in an acute care facility.

  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience.
