BAE Systems is looking for a qualified Test Engineer with people management skills to join our Mk21A Reentry Vehicle team. In this role, you will support defense acquisition and deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter at Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). As a key member of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) IPT, your primary focus will be ensuring program ground tests effectively support the qualification of the Mk21A reentry vehicle.

We're seeking a Test Engineer with experience in testing complex systems, with a strong understanding of Test and Evaluation principals. You will provide weapon system expertise and lead integrated engineering-level assessments of analysis, verification, and validation. A key aspect of this role is integration with outside stakeholders, including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), National Labs, as well as the prime contractor. This role involves leadership and technical support for subsystem and system level ground testing activities, and the development and coordination of test plans and required test analysis documentation.

Additional responsibilities include leading and managing a team of engineers, conducting performance reviews, and managing professional development. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating design, production, and test deficiencies that could impact successful development, and developing detailed briefings for Air Force leadership on Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities.

Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, due to the special-access classified working environment and is not conducive to regular telework or remote schedules.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics.

  • At least 7 years of progressive technical experience or 5 years with a Masters Degree.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, analyzing, and managing tests for complex systems, including the development and maintenance of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP).

  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams, including performance management and professional development.

  • Extensive experience with ICBM systems, DOD acquisition processes, and relevant military standards.

  • Experience coordinating and integrating with external stakeholders.

  • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, with experience briefing and providing reports to executive-level leaders.

  • Must possess and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with Mk21A/W87-1/Sentinel hardware or similar weapon systems. Familiarity with the unique challenges and constraints associated with integrating nuclear weapon systems.

  • Familiarity with program management principles, including cost, schedule, and performance assessment (EVM).

  • Proven experience coordinating with the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) or other Lead Developmental Test Organizations (LDTOs) to ensure operational test readiness and compliance.

  • Experience planning, coordinating, or analyzing Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) flight tests, including integration of test requirements and post-flight data analysis.

  • Possess and maintain a US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

  • Experience as a people manager.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
