As an intern/co-op with Cleveland-Cliffs, you will build life-long professional connections and have the opportunity to be considered for future full-time employment.
As a Civil Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.
Summary of Responsibilities:

Identification and recommendation of the purchase, modification and improvement of varied equipment and facilities
-
Manage aspects of large cross-functional projects and be aware of costs, schedule, performance, and deliverables for projects assigned

Define the scope of the project and select team members from within and outside of their discipline
-
Lead the completion of engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment, infrastructure, and facilities
-
Ensure that advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support is provided to Maintenance
-
Lead the development of standards, processes, and procedures within the department
-
Suggest recommendations for improvement and various other duties as needed to support the business

Various other projects as needed to support the business
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in the field of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related technical degree

Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
