Full job description
We are hiring a Staff Engineer to join our New Product Development team within the R&D department at Sage Products, a business unit within Stryker. This role will involve the design and development of new medical devices that support the mission of Sage – creating simple interventions with extraordinary outcomes. The individual will be involved throughout the entire product development cycle from concept to launch, working closely with other disciplines within R&D to ensure products are developed effectively, safely and efficiently.
This a hybrid based role in Cary, IL.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.

Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.

Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.

Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.

Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.

Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.

Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience.

Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.

Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with CAD tools, preferably Creo.

Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment.
United States of America Pay Ranges:
- US10 : $98,200 - $163,700 USD Annual.
