Full job description
About Bobyard
Construction is a trillion dollar industry that still runs on manual work. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings by hand, and it takes forever. Bobyard uses AI to automate takeoffs and estimates so bids get done 10x faster. We're Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear, and revenue is growing quickly.
About the role
We're growing our services and data operations alongside our software, including by acquiring and integrating small services businesses. You'll be the first person in this function. You'll own what happens after we sign: bringing each company onto our software and processes, redesigning how work gets delivered, and building one operation that runs across all of them. This is a hands-on job. You'll spend real time inside the businesses we acquire, with the people who do the work. In twelve months, every company we've acquired should run on one playbook and one scorecard, and deliver faster and at better margins than when we bought it.
What you'll do
-
Build and run our post-merger integration playbook, from Day 1 through the first 100 days and beyond
-
Map, standardize, and redesign service delivery workflows, then move them onto Bobyard's software and automation
-
Lead change management with acquired teams: communication, training, retention, and adoption
-
Build and manage delivery capacity across onshore and offshore teams, including vendor selection, QA, and capacity planning
-
Design and own the operating scorecard: turnaround time, quality, margin per job, utilization, and customer retention
-
Partner with finance and leadership on operational diligence for new deals, and on tracking results against the investment plan
-
Work with each company's general manager to hit targets without losing customers or key people
-
Build the team and the processes that let us integrate the next company faster than the last
What we're looking for
-
4+ years in operations, including hands-on post-merger integration of at least two acquired businesses
-
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field
-
Experience running service delivery with measurable throughput, quality, and cost targets
-
A track record of leading change management with teams that didn't ask for the change
-
Experience building or managing offshore or distributed delivery teams
-
Strong commercial judgment. You can read a P&L and connect operating metrics to financial returns.
-
Comfortable with ambiguity, heavy travel weeks, and doing the work yourself
Nice to have
-
Operations or integration experience at a PE-backed roll-up or a tech-enabled services company
-
Experience moving manual services work onto software or automation
-
Background in construction, preconstruction, or estimating services
-
Experience running data-labeling or quality-assurance operations
What we offer
-
$140K–$160K base + equity + bonus
-
Medical, dental, and vision, and a 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4%
-
A first-in-function seat with a direct line to the CEO and a clear path to leading our services business
Comp Philosophy Cash for stability. Bonus for performance. Equity for ownership. Your package reflects your role, your experience, and what you deliver.
