Job Title: Controller

Location: Colchester, CT Area (Hybrid – 3–4 days on-site)

Position Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Compensation Range: $150,000–$180,000, depending on experience

A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting operations and support continued growth. This role offers broad exposure across US GAAP, project accounting, job costing, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and FP& A, with the opportunity to improve processes and partner closely with leadership in a project-based or similarly complex operating environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Own month-end close, GL, reconciliations, and financial statements

  • Oversee cost accounting, job costing, and project profitability

  • Manage revenue recognition, including percentage-of-completion and ASC 606

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Manage consolidations and management reporting

  • Maintain US GAAP policies, procedures, and controls

  • Coordinate annual audit and external auditors

  • Partner with leadership and operations on financial performance

  • Build and improve accounting processes as the company grows

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years' experience with 2+ years of Controller-level experience

  • Experience in a project-based, manufacturing, engineering, or similarly complex operating environment

  • Strong, hands-on US GAAP experience

  • Cost accounting and job costing experience

  • Revenue recognition / percentage-of-completion experience

  • Experience with financial statements, consolidations, and financial planning

  • Strong Excel and ERP skills

Additional Experience That’s a Plus:

  • Government contracting / FAR / CAS experience

  • Experience with project-based ERP systems

  • ASC 606 experience

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA
