Job Description

The Family Specialist I will work as part of a family treatment team within our Treatment Foster Care Program. Primary duties will include assessing client needs; coordinating with community services; teaching daily life skills through play, 1:1 practice and learning, reading, games and community activities; helping children develop coping skills and provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and verbal de-escalation; supervise visits with bio parents. Must be able to understand dynamics of children with behavioral and emotional challenges. Must be able to complete required documentation. Flexible schedules are available for college students, second jobs, anyone looking to make a difference in the life of a child. Will have or be able to obtain a OQMHP-PNMI certification with CHCS providing the necessary training. Must be able to understand dynamics of children with behavioral and emotional challenges. Must have a valid State of Maine driver’s license and automobile liability coverage of $100,000/$300,000 to provide safe transportation for clients.

Hourly Rate – $22.00/hour

CHCS believes in the importance of work-life balance, we offer generous leave time with paid sick & vacation time plus seven paid holidays and five paid float holiday time to our full-time staff and pro-rated time for part-time staff.
