Full job description
The Work Experience Coach helps credentialed youth leaders prepare for and connect to career opportunities aligned with their interests, training, and identified sectors. The role becomes active once a youth leader has earned a credential and is ready to pursue a subsidized internship or work experience, or direct placement into an unsubsidized career opportunity. This position is not responsible for service-learning projects. Working under the direction of the Director of Learning and Opportunities, the Coach provides practical career preparation, helps connect youth leaders to appropriate opportunities, and offers support throughout their placement. The Coach also communicates with participating employers about individual placements and helps address routine questions or concerns that may affect the youth leader's experience or continuation. The Work Experience Coach co-facilitates or supports Career Competency Development Training (CCDT) as assigned. For youth leaders participating in subsidized internships or work experiences, the Coach collects, reviews, and submits required timesheets according to established procedures. Timesheets are not collected for youth leaders placed in traditional, unsubsidized employment. The role works closely with the Director, Training and Opportunities Coordinator, Leadership Coaches, and other HYSC staff to support a coordinated transition from credential attainment into career-connected experience.
