Summary The Senior Manager Developer is the hands-on technical owner of finance tools and cloud-hosted solutions that support finance planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and reporting across the Finance organization. The role is the primary translator between Finance business requirements and system configuration and utilization, turning business needs, including planning models, budgeting and forecasting rules, account requirements, and reporting needs, into accurate, controlled, and scalable configuration. This role provides deep finance system and domain expertise that maintains the tools’ integrity and ensure functionalities and delivery are accurate, scalable, and aligned to how the business plans and reports.

Primary Responsibilities Configuration & Solution Design

  • Configure and maintain OneStream and other finance cloud-based tools to support planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and reporting, including building and maintaining cubes, dimensions, accounts, business rules, workflows, and reports so the platform reflects how the business actually operates.
  • Design and maintain data and account structures and hierarchies that underpin reliable planning and reporting as the business, portfolio, and reporting needs change.
  • Translate business logic into system configuration by building rules/coding, forecasting methods, budgeting logic, calculations, and reports into accurate, well-controlled setup that produces reliable numbers and reporting.
  • Package and promote configuration changes into repeatable, controlled deployments across development, test, and production. Coordinate with the Technology team as needed on system architecture, security, broader data governance, and interfaces.
  • Implement smaller finance cloud hosted solutions by leading and supporting the integration and partnering with the Technology team as needed.
  • Support Portfolio Companies by working with the Finance organization and Portfolio Companies, including M&A activities, to enable and optimize financial consolidation and reporting requirements.

Business Translation & Finance Partnership

  • Partner with the Finance organization and Portfolio Companies as needed to understand business needs and requirements (e.g. planning, budgeting, forecasting, forecasting, close, reporting) and translate them into sound system design that supports finance processes and delivers business value. This includes supporting planning, budgeting, and month-end close and developing and maintaining dashboards and reporting (e.g., via Power BI).
  • Apply finance and accounting business context (e.g., how budgets are built, forecasts cycle, accounts roll up, and the close and consolidation work) to properly capture business intent and requirements and designing system and reporting solutions to meet business needs. This includes supporting finance process improvement initiatives.
  • Document configuration, business rules, and design decisions to keep the platform transparent, auditable, and supportable.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for user support which includes responding to day-to-day questions, access requests, and configuration, resolving what can be handled directly, and escalating complex items as needed.

Standards, Improvement & Continuity

  • Define and champion configuration standards by establishing and recommending best practices for configuration, build, testing, and deployment so the application runs on clear, consistent standards.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging capabilities by assessing new system features and finance technologies and adopting them where they add value, partnering with the Technology team on complex and development-heavy work to keep the platform current.
  • Govern security and access to cloud hosted finance tools through managing user provisioning, security roles, and periodic access reviews to keep platforms appropriately permissioned, controlled, and audit-ready (i.e., maintaining sound internal controls).
  • Maintain data quality, controls, and system integrity across cloud-hosted finance solutions.
  • Preserve technical continuity through documenting and safeguarding critical configuration and business logic so platform knowledge stays durable and well-understood.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in financial systems, enterprise applications, or finance/accounting, including hands-on EPM or financial-systems configuration. Candidate can also have 6+ years of experience with an MS degree, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on OneStream configuration strongly preferred (cube and dimension design, business rules, workflows, data integration, reporting); Hyperion or similar EPM platform experience considered.
  • Proven ability to translate finance and accounting requirements (e.g., planning, budgeting, forecasting, account structures, and reporting) into system configuration.
  • Solid finance and accounting business context (budgeting and forecasting cycles, chart of accounts and hierarchies, consolidation, and financial reporting) required.
  • Strong problem-solving and the ability to design maintainable, well-controlled solutions, working fluidly between finance stakeholders and technical team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OneStream certification(s).
  • Experience with data integration, financial data management, and reporting or analytics tooling.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity consolidations, multi-ERP environments, or portfolio companies.
  • Experience with workflow automation and AI-enabled finance capabilities.
  • CPA, or a finance/accounting background applied to systems work.
