Full job description

Tri-City Group is seeking an experienced Power Testing Project Specialist for Davenport, IA. This position

is responsible for ensuring test documentation is collected, reviewed for documentation completeness and accuracy, corrected as necessary, compiled, and submitted in accordance with project requirements. Testing personnel remain responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and technical validation of the test data and documentation associated with the work they perform.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate assigned Power Testing projects from pre-project planning through final project closeout.

  • Review project scope, customer requirements, schedules, drawings, equipment lists, testing requirements, and required deliverables to support project planning and execution.

  • Coordinate identified staffing, test equipment, subcontractor(s), specialty-resources, travel, and other logistical requirements with Power Testing leadership and field personnel prior to mobilization.

  • Maintain overall project and outage schedules, milestones, customer commitments, deliverable dates, and outstanding action items.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-level matters, including schedules, project requirements, deliverables, changes, and overall project status, while coordinating field-related matters with the assigned Lead/Supervisor.

  • Monitor overall project progress and communicate schedule impacts, resource constraints, scope changes, customer requests, and other issues requiring action or escalation.

  • Track escalated technical issues and coordinate involvement of appropriate testing, engineering, manufacturer, or other technical resources as required.

  • Track project deficiencies, punch-list items, and other outstanding requirements through resolution and final project closeout.

  • Coordinate the collection and review of test documentation for documentation completeness and accuracy; identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and coordinate required corrections with responsible personnel.

  • Compile and finalize project test reports and other required deliverables using applicable documentation and testing-related software and submit completed documentation in accordance with project and customer requirements.

  • Own and drive the project closeout process, ensuring required documentation, reports, deliverables, deficiencies, and outstanding action items are completed and submitted.

  • Travel to customer facilities as required to support pre-outage planning, project coordination, and post-outage closeout activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating electrical testing, maintenance, construction, commissioning, or similar technical projects.

  • Working knowledge of electrical power systems, testing activities, and applicable electrical safety practices and procedures.

  • Experience coordinating activities involving field personnel, customers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with electronic documentation, Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn testing-related software and data-management systems.

  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerDB Acceptance & Maintenance Test Data Management Software and Omicron Test Universe software.

  • Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology, completion of an electrical apprenticeship, military electrical/power systems training, or equivalent technical education and experience.

  • Previous experience with electrical testing project documentation, test reports, or project closeout activities.
