JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: IT Field Technician

Status: Full-time

Schedule: Evenings and Weekends

Hourly Rate: $22 - $25 per Hour based on Experience

Position Summary

The IT Field Technician is responsible for providing hands-on technical support at company locations,including corporate offices, convenience stores, operational facilities, and other field sites. This role focuseson resolving technology issues that require on-site troubleshooting, hardware replacement, equipmentinstallation, vendor coordination, and direct support of business-critical systems.The successful candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, andthe ability to work independently in the field. This position requires the ability to prioritize service calls,document work clearly, follow established security procedures, and support a fast-paced, multi-location business environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide on-site IT support at corporate offices, convenience stores, operational facilities, and othercompany locations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, phone, peripheral, and applicationissues in the field.

  • Install, configure, maintain, repair, and replace desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, phones,networking equipment, UPS units, and other technology equipment.

  • Respond to assigned field support tickets and service calls in a timely and professional manner.

  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting for issues that cannot be resolved remotely by the Helpdesk.

  • Support Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, email, business applications, file access,printers, and other commonly used end-user systems.

  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections, VPNaccess, printing, DNS/DHCP-related issues, and basic LAN troubleshooting.

  • Provide technical support for retail store systems, including back-office PCs, POS-related equipment,payment-adjacent systems, store network connectivity, and vendor-supported applications.

  • Assist with store technology upgrades, equipment replacements, new installations, and project-based field deployments.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for escalated hardware, software, telecom, POS, security, andapplication issues.

  • Support company security tools and practices, including endpoint protection, applicationwhitelisting, security awareness procedures, and access control requirements.

  • Assist with maintaining endpoint compliance, patching, equipment inventory, asset tracking, anddevice lifecycle management.

  • Use Jira or other ticketing/project tracking systems to document work, update ticket status, trackresolutions, and communicate progress.

  • Document troubleshooting steps, parts used, equipment replaced, site conditions, resolutions, and follow-up requirements.

  • Follow established IT policies and procedures, including cybersecurity, PCI-related practices, changecontrol, user validation, and data protection requirements.

  • Communicate professionally with end users, store personnel, department managers, vendors, andother IT team members.

  • Escalate unresolved, recurring, urgent, or business-impacting issues with clear documentation andsupporting details.

  • Assist with office moves, hardware deployments, store openings, remodels, technology refreshes,and other IT projects.

  • Participate in after-hours support, emergency response, or on-call rotation as required by businessneeds.
