Sales Manager - On-Highway / Off-Highway

Join our team as a Sales Manager specializing in On-Highway and Off-Highway OEMs. You will drive revenue growth, develop strategic OEM relationships, and lead complex program engagements across heavy-duty truck, bus, construction, agriculture, and material handling sectors. Your expertise in technical-commercial environments and customer intimacy will be key to influencing next-generation vehicle technologies.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial leadership with a solid understanding of technical products and industrial markets. This is a highly collaborative role requiring the ability to translate customer needs and market opportunities into actionable sales strategies while maintaining a strong focus on revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Location: Arlington Heights, IL (Onsite)

Salary Range: $125,000.00 - 140,000.00 Annually + $106,000 Bonus Potential

Your challenge

OEM Account Leadership

  • Build and expand relationships with engineering, purchasing, quality, and program teams at targeted OEMs.

  • Lead technical-commercial discussions, price negotiations, and long-term agreement development.

  • Align program requirements, including performance, reliability, validation cycles, functional safety, and integration constraints.

  • Represent customer feedback internally to drive product improvements and competitiveness.

Sales & Growth Execution

  • Develop and execute growth strategies across medium and heavy duty truck, bus, construction, agriculture, material handling, and adjacent industrial segments.

  • Identify new business opportunities by analyzing OEM product roadmaps, upcoming platform introductions, and technology shifts (electrification, automation, advanced controls).

  • Build business cases with accurate volumes, pricing, margin targets, and long-term value.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver concept proposals, cost estimates, prototypes, and program-ready solutions.

Program & Pipeline Management

  • Lead quoting efforts, opportunity assessments, and long-term value capture.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting across assigned OEM accounts.

  • Support NPI programs by coordinating customer meetings, sample evaluations, feedback loops, and design tuning.

  • Ensure commercial readiness for production launch and sustained account support.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering to align customer requirements with product capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure strong execution against OEM expectations.

What You Bring

  • 5-10+ years of direct experience selling into B2B with preferred experience into major On-Highway or Off-Highway OEMs.

  • Demonstrated success leading OEM programs involving electromechanical components, controls, sensors, or HMI systems.

  • Strong understanding of OEM program timing, gated development processes, validation cycles, cost drivers, and sourcing expectations.

  • Ability to bridge technical detail and commercial strategy; experience interpreting engineering feedback and influencing design direction.

  • Proven negotiation skills at both engineering and purchasing levels.

  • Willingness to travel for OEM site visits, build events, and program reviews.

-Must be willing to travel 20%-40%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network of contacts within target OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

  • Experience collaborating with multi-site engineering teams.

  • Track record managing complex pricing actions, long-term agreements, and multi-year sales strategies.

  • Familiarity with advanced vehicle technologies and functional safety standards.
