Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Hours: Days

Location: Mission Regional Medical Center, Mission TX

We are seeking a Cath Lab RN, internally referred to as our Cath Lab Registered Nurse or IR Nurse. A Cath Lab RN is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specifically with the cardiac catheterization lab. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment

  • Communicate with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition.

  • Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness

  • Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met

  • Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab

  • Observe and record patient’s condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.

  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.

  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.

  • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
