Full job description
Description
Would you like to help scale AWS's presence across the Private Equity community by building the partner ecosystem that drives adoption at portfolio companies? Do you have the business acumen and partnering instincts to mobilize ISVs, GSIs, and internal teams to scale with partners, without owning every relationship yourself?
We are looking for a Principal Private Equity (PE) Partner Development Specialist to scale AWS's engagement with the Private Equity community by driving adoption at portfolio companies through the AWS partner ecosystem. This role sits within Industry & Solutions (I&S), a team of industry and technical domain experts who create and accelerate pipeline at scale through AWS partners. You will operate as a senior leader working in close partnership with the AWS Private Equity Business Development (PE BD) team and the broader I&S organization to convert relationships with PE firms and their portfolio companies into partner-delivered outcomes. You’ll also work closely with AWS strategic corporate development, business development, partner and marketing teams on strategic initiatives that tie in to the PE community.
The ideal candidate will possess a senior business background that enables them to engage with PE operating partners, deal teams, and portfolio company leadership along with a working technical fluency that allows them to translate portfolio company needs into partner-deliverable solutions. He/She should have a demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment at the executive level, think strategically about partner ecosystem development, build scalable mechanisms, and operate in a highly matrixed environment across multiple leadership chains. Experience in private equity, management consulting, technology sales, or business development is preferred.
Key job responsibilities
-
Own and scale partner-led coverage of the PE portfolio company landscape, identifying where partner-delivered solutions can accelerate AWS adoption, working across PE BD and the extended I&S team.
-
Establish and grow relationships with ISV and GSI partners that have strong track records with PE-backed and portfolio companies, creating a repeatable bench of partner capability mapped to portfolio company needs.
-
Coach ISV and GSI partners to help them understand the nuances and differences of operating in the private equity landscape versus other shareholder environments
-
Negotiate and execute partner agreements and joint go-to-market arrangements, including complex, high-visibility deals that enable scalable, partner-delivered coverage of the PE portfolio.
-
Create and accelerate pipeline across PE-owned portfolio companies by connecting portfolio company priorities to partner-delivered outcomes.
-
Leverage AWS partner funding programs and accelerators across PE portfolio opportunities, matching the right mechanisms to each engagement to speed partner-delivered outcomes.
-
Serve as the senior point of coordination across the extended team; PE BD, Account Managers, Partner Sales Managers, Solution Architects, and GSI/ISV partners aligning everyone under a single, scalable engagement motion.
-
Build mechanisms and reporting that give the PE BD and I&S teams visibility into partner coverage, pipeline health, and gaps across the PE portfolio.
-
Support business reviews with data on partner pipeline and revenue, surfacing what's converting and where corrective action is needed.
About the team
The Industry & Solutions (I&S) team is a group of industry and technical domain experts who create and accelerate pipeline at scale through AWS partners. We are customer-obsessed and partner-agnostic, operating across every major industry vertical spanning US and global enterprise accounts. We operate in a highly matrixed environment, collaborating across sales, partner, and product teams globally.

-
