Join us as we bring healthy and sustainable living to millions of Americans in the years to come. THE ROLE Thrive Market is on a mission to make healthy and sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone. As we enter our next phase of growth, acquisition marketing is a major focus, and paid social plays a critical role in driving new member growth. We’re hiring an Associate Director, Paid Social Acquisition to own and scale our paid social program, with Meta and TikTok as core channels and Pinterest, Snapchat, and emerging platforms as additional growth levers. This person will set cross-platform strategy, allocate budget against incremental returns, build the signal and measurement foundation that powers platform optimization, and lead experimentation that turns insight into sustained member growth. This is a strong fit for someone who combines deep hands-on platform expertise with analytical rigor and sound marketing judgment, enjoys operating with autonomy, and can lead people, partners, and cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Senior Director of Member Growth. Responsibilities
- Own paid social acquisition strategy and performance, with Meta and TikTok as core channels, and grow Pinterest, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
- Allocate and reallocate multi-million-dollar budgets across platforms based on marginal and incremental returns, not platform-reported performance alone. Own forecasting, pacing, and planning.
- Lead signal engineering: Conversions API and server-side tracking, event match quality, deduplication, backend and offline conversion events, value-based and predicted-LTV optimization, and first-party audience strategy.
- Partner with Analytics and Engineering to build reliable conversion signals, reconcile platform, attribution, and backend data, and improve data quality across platforms.
- Design and run incrementality measurement, including platform conversion lift studies, geo holdouts, and MMM inputs, and use results to guide investment decisions.
- Set testing priorities and lead experimentation across audiences, creative, formats, bidding strategies, and account structure.
- Build and run a structured creative testing program across studio, UGC, creators, and partnership ads, including AI-assisted creative production. Write briefs and influence creative direction.
- Manage and develop one direct report, and hold agency and platform partners accountable for strategy, execution, and results.
- Analyze performance and creative data to identify drivers, risks, and growth opportunities, and translate insights into clear recommendations.
- Monitor platform changes, privacy and signal shifts, industry trends, and competitive dynamics, and apply them to strategy.
- Communicate performance, learnings, trade-offs, and investment recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in performance or growth marketing, with deep expertise in paid social.
- Expert-level, hands-on experience managing and scaling Meta campaigns, including account structure, Advantage+, bidding, and creative testing at scale.
- Expert-level, hands-on experience managing and scaling TikTok, including Smart+ and Spark Ads, creator and native creative, and the TikTok Events API.
- Proven experience with Pinterest and allocating multi-million-dollar budgets across platforms. Snapchat, Reddit, and Google experience a plus.
- High proficiency in signal engineering: Conversions API, server-side tracking, event match quality, offline and backend conversion integration, and value-based bidding.
- Experience designing and interpreting incrementality tests (conversion lift, geo holdouts) and working with MMM and multi-touch attribution.
- Track record of leading structured creative testing programs and influencing creative direction.
- Experience managing and developing direct reports, and managing agency or platform partners.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Experience in subscription or e-commerce businesses. Health, grocery, or wellness experience is a plus.
- Clear, influential communicator who can articulate performance drivers, trade-offs, and recommendations to executives.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
