Full job description

As an Employee Communications Manager within Stryker’s Corporate Communications team, you will lead strategic communications that help employees understand enterprise priorities, business changes and how their work contributes to Stryker’s goals. In this individual-contributor role, you will serve as a trusted communications advisor, translating complex business strategies into clear, relevant and actionable employee experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Lead integrated communication strategies for enterprise priorities, functional initiatives, employee campaigns and organizational changes from planning through execution and measurement.

  • Translate complex business strategies and information into clear, compelling narratives that help employees understand priorities, decisions and what they mean for them.

  • Develop executive-ready communications across formats, including leader narratives, talking points, scripts, Q&A, presentations, employee messages, toolkits, intranet content and meeting materials.

  • Define communication objectives, audiences, key messages, channels, timing, governance, approvals and measures of success while overseeing end-to-end delivery across employee communication channels.

  • Advise senior leaders and stakeholders on messaging, tone, audience, channel and timing, providing recommendations that strengthen clarity, relevance and impact.

  • Lead communications for organizational change, transformation, enterprise programs and sensitive or time-critical priorities, anticipating employee questions, communication risks and evolving needs.

  • Partner across functions, regions and communications teams to align narratives, navigate differing perspectives, resolve competing priorities and deliver relevant communications for manufacturing, office-based, remote and field-based employees.

  • Measure communication effectiveness using quantitative and qualitative feedback, channel analytics and employee sentiment themes, translating insights into recommendations that improve outcomes while strengthening Stryker’s communication standards and brand.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field preferred.

  • 8 years of professional experience.

  • 5+ years of communications-related work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in employee or internal communications strongly preferred; experience in a large, global or matrixed organization is a plus.

  • Exceptional writing, editing and executive storytelling skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt voice and complexity for different audiences; knowledge of AP Style preferred (writing assessment will be required).

  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex communication strategies from insight and planning through execution and measurement.

  • Strong business acumen and project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-visibility priorities, stakeholders, dependencies and deadlines.

  • Sound judgment and discretion, with experience guiding sensitive, ambiguous or time-critical communications and anticipating employee and organizational risks.

  • Experience advising senior leaders, building trusted relationships and influencing across functions, regions and levels without direct authority.

  • Experience using employee insights, feedback and channel analytics to shape communication decisions and demonstrate impact.
