Full job description

The Problem The most common design pattern for enterprise software assumes a human is doing the work. At Fragment, an agent is. We're fascinated by the gap between what procurement software is and what it could be. Fragment is a platform where enterprise teams hand real work to AI agents: matching invoices, resolving change orders, catching duplicate payments across ERPs, moving millions of dollars through procurement workflows that used to require entire departments. The agents already run production workflows for Fortune 500 companies. What they'll be able to do in two, five, ten years, nobody knows yet, and the interface has to be designed for that. When does the agent just act? When does it pause and ask? How does a person see what happened, why, and whether to trust it? How do you give someone confidence in work they didn't do themselves?

Why Procurement Because the stakes are real and the opportunity is wide open. Every $1B+ company has procurement, AP, and operations teams who spend their entire day inside their tools. These teams run the operational core of every large company, yet the software was never designed for them. The gap between what exists and what's possible is the biggest we've seen in enterprise software, and it's the reason customers found us with $0 in marketing and are now referring us to their networks.

What You'll Own You will own the design of the Fragment platform: onboarding, connecting systems of record, defining agents, configuring workflows, monitoring them in production. Flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and the design system that holds it together as the product grows.

  • Design how humans and agents work together. Decide what agents surface, when a person steps in, and how every decision stays visible and auditable. This is the core of the product and the part of the industry that hasn't been figured out.

  • Make dense things feel simple. Take a failed 3-way match or a change order after goods receipt and turn it into something a person can understand at a glance. You'll care as much about how a workflow is structured as how it looks.

  • Know the customer cold. Sit with procurement and finance leaders, join customer sessions with our Agent Strategists, and design from how their teams actually work rather than how we imagine they do.

  • Ship with engineering. Prototype fast, scope with the team, iterate on real usage. Small team, high trust.

  • Define what agentic procurement looks like. The category is finally getting modern software, but nobody has shown what it looks like when agents do the work. Our decks, product visuals, and customer-facing materials are a chance to set that bar in public, and you'll have the room to do it.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of product design experience.

  • You have a portfolio of enterprise or B2B work that made complex tools feel intuitive.

  • You've turned messy business processes into clear mental models.

  • You've shipped, not just mocked.

  • You're comfortable being the only designer in the room and would rather own the whole problem than a slice of it.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agentic or AI-native products

  • Experience building or scaling a design system

  • Early or founding designer at a startup

  • Experience creating sales and marketing collateral

  • Familiarity with procurement, finance, or ERP software

Who You'd Be Working With A CEO who scaled three Zoom products past $300M in revenue, a CTO who has spent his career in enterprise AI, and a team that includes repeat founders, Caltech PhDs, former quants, chess masters, and one very enthusiastic Bonsai grower. 30x revenue growth in the first half of this year, nearly all of it from customer references.

Reach out even if you're not sure you're a perfect fit. Send a portfolio, we'd love to see it.
