Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Oncology team!
Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus
Position Summary
CMA or MA in the Medical Oncology unit supports providers in delivering specialized cancer care within a fast-paced infusion room setting. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with patient flow, preparing patients for treatments, and documenting in the electronic medical record. The CMA works closely with nursing staff to ensure infusion rooms are stocked and ready, assists with coordinating care, schedules follow-up appointments, and communicates with patients regarding their care plans.
HOURS: Part Time, 0.5 FTE, 40 hours biweekly
Schedule: Day shift, working 2 days one week and 3 days the following week, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Experience/Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of patient care standards, clinical practices, and safety protocols

Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience preferred

Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire; preferred but not required

CNAs are eligible to apply and will receive on-site training to transition into the MA role

Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire – All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED
