Senior Curriculum Developer - Computer Science

As the Senior Curriculum Developer - Computer Science you will play a key role in developing and refining educational materials that will inspire and train the next generation of great problem solvers. At the Senior level, you will lead development of full courses or equivalent scopes of content.

The Senior Curriculum Developer - Computer Science will:

• Outline and develop new courses and other educational materials

• Improve existing materials based on student performance data as well as student and teacher feedback

• Incorporate feedback from team members and other stakeholders into their materials

• Oversee work of more junior curriculum developers collaborating on their projects

• Review and provide feedback on outlines and educational materials created by other curriculum developers

• Participate in teacher training and the creation of training materials, if relevant

• Participate in the onboarding, training, and development of interns and more junior curriculum developers

• Act as a consultant and strategic partner to members of their team on their areas of expertise

• Proactively communicate potential roadblocks and content status and accurately estimate content creation timelines

• Hone their understanding of our students, teachers, and customers; this may include teaching courses, if relevant

• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within their team

• Complete other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned

The ideal candidate has:

• A bachelor's degree in a field closely related to computer science, with an advanced degree a plus

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience teaching computer science and/or developing advanced or exceptionally advanced computer science educational materials, ideally including significant experience working with K-12 students

• Strong experience with and understanding of the students in their target audience and the teachers who will deliver their content

• Demonstrated ability to make good cost-benefit decisions

• Strong understanding of our purchasers' wants and needs

• Strong computer science content knowledge

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to translate complex computer science concepts into clear, engaging, and understandable content for their target audience

• Excellent editing skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Proven ability to communicate effectively and proactively with project stakeholders

• Strong creativity, with the ability to develop original problems and puzzles

• A readiness to seek out and learn from feedback

• Passion for education
