Full job description

Description We are looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to oversee complex accounting matters, external reporting, and compliance activities in Lakewood, Colorado. This position plays a central role in preparing public company filings, evaluating accounting guidance, and supporting accurate financial reporting across reporting cycles. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with regulatory reporting, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the preparation and detailed review of quarterly and annual external reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and related disclosures.

  • Evaluate accounting issues by researching applicable U.S. GAAP and IFRS guidance and translating requirements into practical recommendations.

  • Draft formal accounting memoranda and position papers for significant, unusual, or complex business transactions.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to help ensure complete, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing documentation, resolving inquiries, and assisting with audit and review procedures.

  • Track newly issued accounting standards and determine their potential effect on financial statements, disclosures, and policies.

  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls related to financial reporting and disclosure accuracy.

  • Partner with teams across finance, legal, tax, and operations to address reporting implications, policy application, and transaction-related accounting matters.

  • Contribute to special projects focused on technical accounting analysis, compliance initiatives, and process enhancements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.

  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company reporting exposure.

  • Proven background in SEC reporting, with hands-on experience preparing or reviewing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and related filings.

  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

  • Experience preparing technical accounting documentation for complex or non-routine transactions.

  • Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
