Full job description
Role Summary We're looking for a Director of Product to lead Temporal's product-led growth and self-service strategy. In this role, you'll set the vision and build the systems that help developers and teams discover, activate, and scale with Temporal — without friction. You'll own how new users onboard, find value, and grow their usage, while building and leading a team that shapes how thousands of developers experience and adopt Temporal Cloud. Your work will drive product adoption and conversion across key funnel stages, laying the foundation for long-term engagement, expansion, and growth at scale. With Temporal becoming the foundation for building AI, your work will drive rapid consumption of Temporal for emerging AI developers and teams to rapidly experiment and scale. What You'll Do
-
Define and own the vision for Temporal's self-serve experience — setting the strategy for how new users sign up, onboard, and realize value in Temporal Cloud
-
Lead and scale product-led growth initiatives that drive activation, adoption, and expansion through in-product experiences, lifecycle touchpoints, and experimentation
-
Build, mentor, and develop a team of PMs focused on growth and self-service, establishing a high-performance product culture
-
Partner at the leadership level with Marketing, Growth Engineering, Design, and GTM to align PLG strategy with company-wide priorities and revenue goals
-
Establish the measurement framework — defining and owning key metrics such as activation, retention, conversion, and expansion, and holding the team accountable to outcomes
-
Champion the developer experience at an organizational level — ensuring onboarding, documentation, and product design create a clear and rewarding path to success
-
Translate data, behavioral analytics, and user research into a prioritized roadmap and communicate it clearly to executives and cross-functional partners
What You'll Bring
-
10–15+ years of product management experience, with significant time in senior or leadership roles owning self-serve, PLG, or growth strategy in SaaS or developer-centric products
-
Demonstrated experience building and leading PM teams, with a track record of developing strong product talent
-
Deep expertise in product funnels, activation metrics, experimentation frameworks, and lifecycle optimization at scale
-
Strong executive presence and communication skills — able to set direction, align stakeholders, and influence without authority across the organization
-
Fluency with analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, SQL, BigQuery, or similar) and the ability to drive a data-informed culture across your team
-
Familiarity with open-source or developer ecosystem products is a strong plus
-
A builder's mindset with the strategic vision to zoom out and the operational discipline to execute
