Full job description

Job Duties

Provide individual mental health counseling and psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in an outpatient private practice setting.

Conduct initial clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on each client’s presenting concerns, needs, and goals.

Provide ongoing therapeutic services using evidence-based, ethical, and patient-centered approaches.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and other required records.

Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches and goals as clinically appropriate.

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable Minnesota laws and licensing requirements.

Coordinate care and communicate with other providers, referral sources, and professionals when appropriate and when proper releases of information are in place.

Participate in consultation and collaboration with other members of the Life Center team as needed.

Manage and maintain an appropriate caseload based on clinical availability, areas of specialty, and client needs.

Provide services in person and/or through telehealth, as appropriate.

Complete required documentation and other administrative responsibilities related to client care.

Follow all applicable professional, ethical, licensing, and organizational policies and procedures.

Build positive therapeutic relationships with clients and contribute to a supportive, respectful, and collaborative practice environment.

Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain required licensure and continuing education.

Minimum Education Required

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field.

Minimum Experience Required

At least 1 year of experience providing mental health counseling/psychotherapy in a clinical setting, including assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and direct client care.
