Technician

Rome, NY, US

JOB SUMMARY: The Engineering Technician I is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to the engineering, technology, and/or systems engineering functions. Support may be required during the design, development, assembly, and test phases of process equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. The Engineering Technician I is given assignments that are less complex. Technical oversight and direction is provided.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

  • Support engineering staff during the assembly, test, and qualification of various equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. required for process systems

  • Prepare simple assembly drawings, equipment/floor layouts, specifications, training documentation, process instructions and procedures, etc. via hand-drawn sketches and standard office applications

  • Utilize a variety of standard test equipment, gauges, and other measurement equipment to evaluate and document the performance of components, sub-assemblies, and complex process systems.

  • Gather and organize data and other input in support of Return on Investment (ROI) cost analysis, process efficiency and improvement, capability and tolerancing studies, etc.

  • Provide hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of components, sub-assemblies, and final systems using formalized drawings, sketches, or detailed verbal and/or written instructions

  • Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening, etc.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in technical field preferred

  • 2 years of work-related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Experience may be considered in lieu of Associate’s degree

  • Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience is a must

  • Experience with design applications (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) preferred

  • Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Communicates in a clear, organized, and professional manner

  • Must possess a high degree of energy and drive

This position is contingent upon contract award

WAGE DISCLOSURE:

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.

$20.00 per hour - $32.00 per hour

($41,500 - $66,500 annually)
