Job Description

Are you a visionary engineer looking for a challenge that combines innovation, impact, and cutting-edge technology? We're on the hunt for a talented Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Department of War space. As a key player in our organization, you'll have the opportunity to design and develop state-of-the-art network infrastructure and inside plant systems for some of the most advanced government facilities in the world. Our work is centered around supporting the Special Operations community, providing a unique chance to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on national security and defense. You'll be part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in telecommunications and building technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of low-voltage and telecommunications systems, equipment, and products for commercial, industrial, and military applications

  • Direct activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet functional specifications and customer requirements

  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to create plans, update libraries, and coordinate drawing production

  • Provide technical input for scopes of work and budgetary estimates

  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines and the project architectural team

  • Design structured cabling, voice and data systems, communications room layout, and building infrastructure for low-voltage systems

  • Develop construction specifications and drawings, conduct site surveys, and facilitate contractor coordination

What You'll Need:

  • Current knowledge of codes and technologies in telecommunications and building technologies

  • Experience with structured cabling systems from an installation and basic design perspective

  • Ability to perform break-fix on Inside Plant cable infrastructure

  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software

We're offering one of three exciting locations:

  • Chesapeake, VA - The Tidewater area of Southeast Virginia with a mix of city and beach life

  • Lexington Park, MD - Scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor

  • Spring Lake, NC Growing community with a small-town charm in the Sandhills region of North Carolina

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High school diploma and at least 8 years of experience developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling

  • Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective

  • Well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards

  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage and telecommunications systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Visio for producing floorplans and cut sheets

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • At least 10 years of related experience, including experience with data/voice structured cabling systems, audio/visual and VTC, wireless systems (including Wi-Fi and public safety distribution systems), access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems.

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (If certification has not been obtained, a willingness to obtain certification upon starting position.)

  • Networking fundamentals (e.g. TCP/IP, VLANs, Multicast); exposure to designing and integrating multi-class networks

  • Proficient in Visio, AUTOCAD, and/or equivalent drawing program.

  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).

  • Relevant experience to planning and designing cable infrastructure that support the DoD environment.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
