Full job description
We are currently looking for a Project Scheduler for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role will develop, monitor, and maintain detailed schedules for IT initiatives using Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools. The Project Scheduler will help project teams align timelines, dependencies, and resources to support delivery within scope and budget.
The Project Scheduler will collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders across multiple concurrent IT projects in a cross-functional environment using Agile methodologies.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules that align with IT project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to define tasks, dependencies, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Track progress, update schedules, and prepare schedule documentation and status reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor resource allocation across multiple projects and identify conflicts, bottlenecks, and potential scheduling constraints.
- Conduct critical path analyses, identify schedule risks and delays, and collaborate with project managers to recommend mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate regular scheduling meetings to gather updates, evaluate changes, and refine plans while maintaining schedule accuracy and timeliness.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience as a project scheduler in IT or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software to develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Strong understanding of the IT project lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with dependency management, critical path analysis, and resource planning across concurrent projects.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and adapt to dynamic project environments.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies.
- Experience managing schedules for healthcare IT or federal technology modernization projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification is a plus.
Security Clearance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
