Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join the medical staff at Olympia Fields Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, collaborative surgeon to build a successful practice while providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout Chicago’s south suburban communities.

The ideal candidate will provide a broad range of general surgery services and work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and hospital leadership to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Perform a wide array of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, colorectal interventions, breast surgery, endocrine procedures, and basic thoracic/vascular cases.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in tumor boards, trauma rounds, and quality initiatives to optimize patient care and outcomes.

  • Participate in call coverage for emergency and trauma services.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in our integrated EMR system.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery.

  • Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

  • Active or eligible for Illinois medical licensure.

  • Strong clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork.

  • Experience in trauma/surgical critical care is a plus but not required; new graduates and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply.

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $375,000-450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
