Full job description
Description
Amazon Leo is building a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. We're looking for a Human Resources Partner (HRP) to join the team shaping the people experience behind this industry-changing initiative.
In this role, you'll serve as a strategic and hands-on HRP to site leadership and frontline managers across the Leo organization. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, HRBPs, and cross-functional PXT teams — including Employee Relations and Labor Relations — to design and execute people strategies that drive engagement, build manager capability, and strengthen the employee experience. A core focus of this role is leveraging listening mechanisms — including regular floor walks and sentiment analysis — to proactively surface trends, recommend actions, and close the loop with leadership.
You'll also play a key role in building the HR infrastructure for a scaling operation: launching policies, processes, and tools; leading change management; and standing up programs tailored to Leo's unique operating environment. Until centralized solutions are fully in place, you'll provide interim support for employee lifecycle processes and serve as the first point of escalation for employee concerns and time-sensitive issues, including labor relations matters.
This is an on-site role based at SEA133 in Kirkland, WA, working Tuesday through Saturday on a night-shift schedule from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with flexibility to adjust hours based on business needs. You must be reachable for escalations outside standard hours on a rotational or as-needed basis. Travel to the Everett or Redmond facility is required as driven by business need. This role will provide cross-site coverage, supporting the Redmond and Everett sites during shift.
Key job responsibilities
-
Conduct regular Gemba walks and analyze employee sentiment data to advocate for employee needs, enhance engagement, and develop proactive strategies with leaders.
-
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional PXT teams (HRBPs, Employee Relations, Labor Relations) to align on engagement actions and execute site-specific programs, including defining ER/LR strategy for the Florida site.
-
Consult on talent management, performance management, compensation, and employee relations — including coaching, Focus & Pivot/PIP guidance, promotion and talent review support, and off-cycle compensation changes.
-
Conduct workplace investigations and support employee queries with discretion, applying Amazon policies and high judgment. Serve as first point of escalation for concerns beyond MyHR (policy exceptions, emergency management, regulatory escalations).
-
Build and launch HR infrastructure — policies, processes, and tools — followed by change management and manager training (e.g., performance management practices, ADAPT).
-
Provide interim employee lifecycle support for processes not yet automated or centralized (e.g., payroll corrections, escalations not handled by MyHR).
-
Coach and guide managers to enhance their decision-making and managerial capabilities across performance, talent, compensation, and employee relations.
-
Collaborate with central teams to improve processes, influence product development, and implement mechanisms that achieve key business goals.
-
Evaluate and streamline HR structures, identifying opportunities for centralization and standardization.
Basic Qualifications
-
HR experience supporting hourly populations in Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Operations
-
Meet level requirement for role
-
Export Control: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or above
