Job Duties:
The Section Grower is responsible for the care and maintenance of plants within a designated area of greenhouse space. They will perform various operational and grower tasks to ensure the effective operation of the growing facility by following prescribed schedules, operating policies and procedures. They will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and production of plants within a designated section of the greenhouse. Duties include preparing production materials by making Elle Plugs, transplanting plants in the production room, sticking unrooted cuttings, and performing general plant care and maintenance throughout the growing process. Employees are responsible for cleaning and preparing production areas after each crop cycle to maintain an organized and sanitary work environment. Additional responsibilities include preparing plants and products for shipment, assisting with shipping operations, loading trucks, and supporting seasonal production activities. Employees may also assist with coordinating daily production tasks and ensuring established production schedules, operating procedures, and quality standards are followed.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience Required
Must have 3 months experience.
Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs.
Extensive pushing and pulling is required.
Extensive walking or sitting is required.
Frequent stooping or bending over is required.
Repetitive movements are required.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
